Who We Are
Zonken Environmental Technology Ltd. is a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Kenya, working at the crossroads of climate action, regenerative agriculture, and community empowerment.
We exist to solve one of Kenya’s most urgent challenges: how to restore degraded land and lift rural communities out of poverty—sustainably and at scale. From seedling to soil, and from farmer to processor, we’re creating green solutions that protect our planet and provide real opportunity.

What We Do

— Seedling Cultivation
We produce high-quality medicinal and fruit tree seedlings in our greenhouses and nurseries, supporting national reforestation and food security efforts.

— Aloe Vera Planting
Our “Company + Farmers” model engages over 10,000 households to cultivate aloe vera, providing each family with a reliable income and market linkage. Our aloe processing facility will produce products for local and international markets.

— Agro-Industrial Infrastructure
We’ve invested $10 million in our Baringo base — complete with greenhouses, nurseries, and Kenya’s first integrated aloe vera processing facility.

We conduct farmer training programs, workshops, and outreach to promote best practices in climate-resilient agriculture, natural resource conservation, and herbal value chains.

Impact Stories
Mary: From Struggle to Stability
Mary, a widowed mother of three from Baringo, once relied on erratic casual jobs to feed her family. Through Zonken’s “Company + Farmers” aloe vera program, she received seedlings, training, and a guaranteed market for her harvest. Today, her plot yields a steady income, enough to send her children to school and save for the first time in her life.
“I no longer worry about where the next meal will come from,” Mary shares with a smile.
Brian: A Youth Empowered
Brian, a 22-year-old from Nakuru, joined our Climate Education & Youth Training program with no prior experience in sustainable farming. Today, he runs a small nursery, supplying seedlings to neighboring farms and earning a steady income.
“I used to think farming was for survival; now I see it as a business that protects our planet,” Brian says.
